Happy Birthday Callahan! On Wednesday, August 6, 2014, Cal officially turned one. To celebrate I made Cal a special big blueberry waffle for breakfast, and put a candle on it. He tried to grab the flame, and then I blew it out myself, because apparently babies can't blow our their own candles. Who knew?
It wasn't until Saturday that we had Cal's robot-themed birthday party, where we had nearly 40 people, including babies and parents and we had a BLAST! I don't think Cal knew why everyone was there, but it was very special for us to see how well loved Cal is. We know there are many family members and friends in Oregon, and other parts of the U.S. who would have loved to be there for the celebration, and feel blessed to know that you all love Cal as much as you do.
There is a hodge podge of pictures and videos from the party, and some things, like the food table!! that we forgot to get a picture of, but it was all so great. BIG BIG BIG thanks to my mother-in-law Anita and father-in-law Jim who came and helped with food, set-up, watching Cal, pretty much everything, the day before the party and the day of.
And then there was the cupcake...
Cupcake Video!! and the fanciest birthday hat you will ever see - Thanks to Aunt Sheryl.

My heart is SO full of joy after celebrating Cal's 1st birthday on Saturday. Looking at this picture of family and friends who shared this special day, I am blown away by the way God has orchestrated all of these relationships in such a short amount of time. Moving to Philadelphia and not having any friends was difficult, and with the help of Mike Roth, Kim DeGregorio Roth, Dave Marshalland Sheryl DeGregorio Marshall we were able to feel taken care of and loved. Once Cal was born, I was able to join a group of new moms and from there so many beautiful friendships began. When I look at how many people are now a part of our lives that were not a part of our lives one year ago, it shows me again how God answers our prayers in our times of loneliness and need. Thank you to each of you who have made our lives more rich and full of love in Philly.
Yay! so fun
